BACKGROUND
Africa Development Consultant Ltd (ADC) was registered in October 2006 as Africa Development Consultants S.A.R.L. In May 2011, the company was re-registered by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) as Africa Development Consultants Limited (ADC) in compliance with law No 7 of 27/04/2009 relating to company registration. As per its Memorandum and Articles of Association, ADC Objectives are to conduct:
- Management Consultancy, research and training services
- Auditing and Taxation
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- Business Development Services
- And to do such other things that may be conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.
Some of ADC’s significant achievements since its establishment are:
- Working as the partner of the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) for the implementation of the USADF Program in Rwanda, under respective annual Cooperative since June 2007 to date. Under this agreement, ADC provides assistance in project development and project monitoring services. Annually ADC has had a $ 750,000 to $ 1,200,000 target to reach in new project funding. While annually monitoring on average a portfolio of 24 existing development projects financed by USADF in previous years.
- Working as the service provider of the National Agricultural Export Board (NAEB) through the Project for Rural Income through Exports (PRICE), Develop Business Plans on behalf of NAEB/PRICE Project Beneficiaries for easy access to Financial Services for a period June 2019 to June 30, 2020. ADC enabled PRICE beneficiaries to access bank loan totaling 1 billion Rwf from financial institutions and a matching grant.
- Working as service provider of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB) through Climate Resilient Post-Harvest and Agribusiness Support Project (PASP) from April 2015 to December 2019, Business planning on behalf of the PASP Project beneficiaries for easy access to financial services. ADC enabled PASP beneficiaries to access bank loan totaling 2.4 billion Rwf from financial institutions and Project grant amounting Rwf 2.1 billion.
- Accomplished the services of provision of Business Development Services (BDS) and management of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) Business Development Service (BDS) Centers in Eastern Province of Rwanda and Kigali City (January 2012 – June 2014).
- Volunteering Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Youth and ICT initiative, “YouthConnekt” and annual event that open doors for young people in many ways.
To a greater extent, ADC has lived up to its objectives and mission. The company seeks to replicate its Rwandan experiences to other African countries to become a recognized and sought for Pan African SME Development Consulting Firm.
